Operation Christmas Child

Since Mort Bradley first started many years ago, Lakeside Presbyterian Church has been involved with Operation Christmas Child and part of sharing the Gospel with millions of children around the world. Operation Christmas Child (OCC) is one of many components of Samaritan’s Purse, an international ministry led by Franklin Graham.

In 2016, Lakeside collected 2,301 shoeboxes, and we would love to increase that amount in 2017! Pat Werne and Karen Carlson are the co-chairpersons of Operation Christmas Child for 2017. Their hope is to reach out to other churches, schools and organizations in the Reservoir area to continue to grow our community participation with OCC.

Operation Christmas Child National Collection week is November 13-20, 2017. Lakeside is once again a drop-off location for the area! Below are the dates for drop-off in the Lakeside Gym:
Monday, November 13  9:30-11:30 a.m.          Thursday, November 16     2:00-5:00 p.m.          Sunday, November 19     1:00-4:00 p.m.
Tuesday, November 14  10:00 a.m. - Noon       Friday, November 17     10:00 a.m. - Noon         Monday, November 20    8:30-10:30 a.m.
Wednesday, November 15   2:00-5:00 p.m.
      Saturday, November 18    9:30-11:30 a.m.

The OCC cardboard boxes are available in our sanctuary foyer. However, you may also used a decorated cardboard shoebox from home OR a plastic shoebox with lid. See the gift suggestion guide below for help with packing your box! Starting this year, toothpaste and candy will not be allowed in shoeboxes, due to customs regulations.
